Do you have a good understanding of both the UK and international export book markets? Are you a commercially-minded sales professional seeking out an exciting new challenge in trade book publishing?
A well established independent publisher of adult non-fiction and children’s books, is looking for a proactive Sales Manager to join their team and drive the outward looking trade sales of their growing business.
In this role, you will manage and develop relationships with a range of accounts across the UK, USA, and ANZ markets, including retailers, consignment customers, wholesalers, and other key accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Sales strategy: providing commercial input to help drive the success of the publishing programme. Confidence building strong relationships with the internal team and external representatives.
- Account management: managing relationships with all new and existing key accounts primarily spanning UK and US trade, and Australia and New Zealand.
- Sales administration: upkeeping of financial records of consignment stock sales and processing orders. Analyse market trends, identifying new sales opportunities.
Successful candidates will be adept problem-solvers, have strong customer service skills, and solid industry connections across either children’ s or adult book markets. Previous experience working in special sales or custom publishing would be highly desirable.
This role may suit an experienced Sales Executive looking to progress within a skilled team or a seasoned Sales Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity.
Salary: c. £35-45k DOE
Work pattern & location: Hybrid working pattern of two days in-office, located in central London. There would be flexibility for the right person.
