This role may suit an Editorial Assistant / Assistant Editor looking for a step up, or an established Editor looking to move into high-end illustrated licensing non-fiction.

The world’s leading illustrated non-fiction trade publisher is seeking an Editor to join their Licensing division, working on their leading portfolio of Entertainment brands. 

In this role, you will get to lead the editorial aspects of projects under the supervision of the Senior / Managing Editor.

You will be confident handling individual responsibilities at different stages of a book’s development, and possess a willingness to grow and bring fresh ideas to the company. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Commissioning: Develop titles for global trade markets (including custom and specials clients); maintain relationships with suppliers, authors, licensors, and freelance contacts; ensure products adhere to brand guidelines; research emerging trends; with senior support, commission and brief collaborators.
  • Editorial: Contribute to sales and presentation materials; work with design partners to create flatplans, initial spreads, and explore licensor image banks; ensure all image files are archived correctly; copyedit, proofread and fact check commissioned text.
  • Support: Assist Senior Editor’s with project management, content research, and editing; support Managing Editor’s on ad hoc editorial projects;  editorial approvals; assist at studio and location photography as required.
