The academic department of a growing publishing services company is looking to hire a Production Editor to work on their roster of client publications.  

Our client specialises in providing editorial and project management services to academic and educational publishers, managing projects from concept to product delivery.

This varied role will be vital to the company in continuing to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality print and digital projects for their customers.  

Responsibilities:

• Oversee editorial production of a list of academic titles, from receipt of author’s manuscript to supply of final files to the client.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders throughout the process.
• Managing the schedule and the budget for each title. 

Day-to-day:

• Commission and supply work to freelance copy-editors, indexers and proofreaders as required.
• Keep clients and authors updated on the progress of each title and respond to any queries.
• Liaise with typesetters for typesetting and corrected proofs for revision.
• Supply final files to the client on time and on budget.
• Attend team meetings online as required.
